FreeGIS.net at the Conference ASITA 2012

R3 GIS will take part to this important Italian forum of Geomatics .The company from Merano will present the project within the thematic session Open data, GIS Free e Open Source.

The presentation will describe the software which has been developed during the project and the results gained from the analysis of data exchange protocols based on the INSPIRE Directive.

Conference ASITA 2012 (Vicenza, 6th - 9th Novembre)

Feverish preparations for the sixteen annual conferences of ASITA (www.asita.it) are under way. This year the conference takes place in Vicenza from November 6 to 9. The programs of two special sessions are already available on the website of the Federation, they are about:

• The IDT and Topographic Database: tools for spatial information management in the Region of Veneto, November 7
• Forensic Geomatics: The role of scientific evidence in the investigative and procedural contexts, on Friday 9

This is traditionally the month during which authors who have submitted proposal for technical and scientific work write their articles: in fact, the deadline for their submission is September 5.

Over 260 abstracts, have been received until this point, and are divided in 41 themes: as every year, the organizers expect the planning of several thematic sessions, opportunity to meet and exchange knowledge and experiences among the participant at the conference.

This year  there will be again (after several years of absence) a training initiative: four short courses called" tutorials" are offered; they are intended for technicians and engineers who are interested in ASIT 2012 as an opportunity in order to enrich their knowledge or learn new topics about geomatic.
