The Reference Implementation of FreeGIS.net is almost ready
The Reference Implementations FreeGIS.net prototype is almost ready.
The prototype of the Reference Implementation, which is one of FreeGIS.net's goals, is ready. The activities that have already been carried out are: analysis and selection of the Free and Open Source software, development of the FreeGIS.net Viewer, which is actually based on OGC standards and editing functions used with standard WFS-T. Currently the project's website is been loaded. It will be available and adequately documented by the end of January.
FreeGIS.net takes part in 14th meeting of the Italian GRASS GFOSS users
The meeting GFOSS GRASS for Italian users will be held at the Polytechnic School of the University http://geomorfolab.arch.unige.it/genova2013/ in Genova. FreeGIS.net will present the Reference Implementation, which is almost ready . Moreover, R3 GIS (the technology partner of the project), together with the company WEB & GIS is organizing a special workshop for the GisClient tool, which is a component used for the Reference Implementation.
The First call of the INSPIRE Conference 2013(Florence 23rd to 27th June 2013) has already been shared
The call for contribution of the INSPIRE Conference 2013 is now available here http://inspire.jrc.ec.europa.eu/events/conferences/inspire_2013/#callfp.
As we previously announced last June, the conference will be held in Florence from June 25 to 27. It's one of the most important appointments for the Geographic Information and the Spatial Data Infrastructure.
The call invites you to propose posters and contributions for what concerns: Showcase on Environment, Capacities and Networking. The posters have to be submitted by March 29 2013 and other proposal or contributions by March1 2013. As usual, during the days before the conference-23rd and 24th of June- workshops and tutorials will be organized/held. The deadline for submitting the workshops is March 1.
International Open Data Day ITALY, February 23 in Rome ... you may contribute to its organization!
The third edition of the International Open Data Day ITALY takes place in Rome on February 23.The organizers have promoted a "solicitation" in the network in order to collect contributions for its organization. The goal is to start a discussion and encourage the creation of operating working groups that are able to develop a shared documentation on the event's topics.
In addition to the opportunity to interact in the network (on the web site you can find the URLs to subscribe for the discussion group, which is free, and for the five groups that you can join). Working days are organized as well. A first meeting was held in Bologna, on December 5 and the next event will be held in Rome at the "The Central State Archive "on January 25, 2013. First conference of the OpenGeoData Association:
The first OpenGeoData Association's conference takes place in the prestigious headquarters of the Italian Geographic Association, namely the Palace Mattei in Villa Celimonta in Rom, on February 28 2013.
The Association was established in 2011 with the aim of contributing to spread the Open Data paradigm-specifically for geographic data-in our country, especially in the Public Administration (PA) in order to allow its use to everyone .The Conference is open to all and will be shared via web. The following themes will be discussed: costs and benefits of Open Data, intelligent updating of geodata, download services, interoperability and data sharing, reuse of data, feedback from users and developers, applications in different areas, as for example traffic information and management of smart cities.
