http://www.geospatialworldforum.org/
This year, he edition 2013 of GEOSPATIAL WORLS FORUM takes part in Rotterdam from May 13th to May 16th .This year the topic is: "Monetising the Geospatial Values & Practices".
R3 GIS ,who ‘s
the technology partner of FreeGIS.net, will have a report at the workshop organized by the project SMESPIRE http://www.smespire.eu/.
SMESPIRE is a support
action of the FP7 program in order to promote the business opportunities offered by INSPIRE to European PMI of Geo-ICT (see also newsletter December 2012).
R3 GIS put
emphasis on the fact that the geographic data has been very important during the last years, also for small to medium-sized public bodies and for the SMEs. R3 GIS aims to highlight that
the needs of these actors for the data exchange with the outside world by using of standard data and specifications, are the objectives of INSPIRE.
Therefore, the development of solutions
that are easy to install and have affordable costs –and that are able to accelerate the adoption of the specifications INSPIRE are certainly the right response to the needs of the
SMEs in the geo-IT.
A well-defined and standardized configuration reduces the required investments to re-create web INSPIRE services and spread the adoption of INSPIRE among organizations
that would otherwise be excluded for technical or financial reasons . In addition, the possibility of using the INSPIRE services in a standardized way and to easily combine them with your data
set-by using the OGC and INSPIRE standards , will allow SMEs the access to geographic data across Europe, reducing costs and difficulties in obtaining data from different organizations.
FreeGIS.net
is an example of how a small business can create new business opportunities by investing in the development of "INSPIRE compliant" technologies.
